Satyarth Prakash

Swami Dayanand laid a great deal of stress on the teachings mentioned in the Vedas and asked his followers to adopt the vedic teachings as the way of life. Undoubtedly Swami Dayanand can be regarded as the only saint who kept the Vedas alive and his followers continued the legacy forward by following his footsteps.

Unfortunately a deeper look in to Satyarth Prakash reveals the dark side of Swami Dayanand which raises questions about his character and his characterless and stupid teachings.

God forgives sins | Satyarth Prakash vs Vedas

Swami Dayanand says that sins cannot be forgiven whereas the Holy Vedas say that God can forgive Sins

Satyarth Prakash Chapter 7 (Saptamsamullas)

satyarth prakash chapter 7Swami Dayanand Saraswati is saying here that God does not forgive the sins of a devotee. This is completely opposite to what is written in the Vedas. Please see below.

Yajurved Adhyay 8 Mantra 13

Yajurveda Adhyay 8 Mantra 13

Around 6-7 times God has said in this Mantra that He forgives sins

  • It is repeatedly mentioned that God forgives the sins of his worshipper
  • God forgives the sins done by the father.
  • God even forgives/destroys the most heinous sins.
  • God can forgive all sins done unknowingly.
  • God can forgive all the sins done in the past or done currently.

Here the word मित्र (friend) has been used to address God. Swamiji himself describes in Satyarth Prakash the meaning of मित्र (mitr - friend). Please see below (Satyarth Prakash page 22)

satyarth prakash meaning of mitr

Hence God can forgive sins. Arya Samajis defend this by saying that these lines are addressed to a friend or "vidwan grahasth purush" , which is ludicrous. There is no friend who can forgive your sins apart from God. You cannot forigve your own sins and neither can your friends or anyone else be it "vidwan grahasth purush" as told by Dayanand Saraswati.

Going by the concept given by Dayanand Saraswati if God cannot forgive your sins then how can a "vidwan grahasth purush" even make an effort to forgive your sins.

God is not formless. God is Corporeal | Satyarth Prakash vs Vedas

Satyarth Prakash by Swami Dayanand says that God is formless whereas Holy Vedas say that God has a form.

Satyarth Prakash Chapter 7 (Saptamsamullas) page 149

satyarth prakash saptam samullas god formless

Swamiji clearly describes God to be formless. This is completely opposite to what is written in the Vedas. Please see below

Yajurved Adhyay 5 Mantra 1 - Wrong translation by Swami Dayanand Saraswati

Yajurveda Adhyay 5 Mantra 1

Correct Translation below

Yajurveda Adhyay 5 Mantra 1

“Agne TanuH Asi | Vishnve Tva Somasya Tanur' Asi || ”

It has been stated twice in this Mantra that Parmeshwar has a body. That Eternal Purush has a body for nurturing everyone i.e. when God, comes as a guest in this world for some time to explain Tattavgyan to His devotees, He comes by wearing a body of lighter masses of lights over His actual effulgent body.

Yajurved Adhyay 1 Mantra 15

This mantra also says "Agne TanuH Asi" but Swamiji has deliberately not done the meaning of this word "Agne" and 11 other words. Please see for yourself below.

Yajurveda Adhyay 1 Mantra 15

This clearly indicates that Swami Dayanand Saraswati was wrong and did not have complete knowledge about God and neither can we say that he was the knower of Vedas. If a few things have been proven wrong then it raises a suspicion on other concepts given by Dayanand Saraswati as well.

Nonsensical Concepts in Satyarth Prakash | Dayanand Saraswati says there is life on Sun

Satyarth Prakash, Chapter Eight - Ashtam Samullas -

Swami Dayanand Saraswati has written that there is similar creation on Sun, Moon etc as there is on earth like rivers, gardens etc. Then he says that there are humans living on Sun and Moon and they read these Vedas there.

A person who can say all this and then write it in a book must be intoxicated to do so. It only shows the spiritual level of this man.
