There are many people in India and worldwide who still follow the teachings of Kabir. The followers of Kabir are referred to as Kabir Panthis.

Sikhs refer to him as "Bhagat Kabir", and the teachings of Kabir are inscribed in Shri Guru Granth Sahib to which every sikh bows.

Supreme God, Purna Brahm (पूर्ण ब्रह्म), Creator, remover of all sufferings, Anghaari (enemy of sins), Bambhaari (enemy of bondage), Bandichhor (Liberator from bondage), destroyer of sins, this God is Param Akshar Brahm (परम अक्षर ब्रह्म). His real name is Kavir Dev (कविर देव), Allahu Akbar (अल्लाह-हु-अक्बर). He is also known as Hakka Kabir (ਹੱਕਾ ਕਬੀਰ).

Allahu Akbar, Hakka Kabir, Kabir Dev are all synonymous names of that same God in different languages. That God Himself comes from Satlok to make His dear souls free from sufferings, to liberate them from the bondage of Kaal, to nurture and enrich the soul with the wealth of worship (Bhakti भक्ति). His name is Kavir Dev. He is also called Kabir Sahib (कबीर साहिब).

God Kabir's appearance on earth (1398 - 1518CE)

God Kabir Weaver

In Kalyug, in the year 1398 (Vikrami Samvat 1455) on Jeth Sudhi Purnima that Supreme God acquiring a form of an infant appeared on a mature lotus flower in the Lahar Tara pond in the holy city Kashi (Banaras) on the holy earth of India. A childless weaver couple took Him. God gradually grew up in His divine body, and then started doing the paternal work of a weaver of His so-called parents. And that same Supreme God, Param Akshar Brahm, became famous as a "Dhaanak / धानक" (weaver) in Banaras i.e. came to be known as a weaver. We all souls belong to that Param Akshar Brahm. We all are His children. We have originated from that Supreme God's word. We have come out of His body. And that God only has given us the form of a soul.

Misconceptions about God Kabir

Misconception 1 - God Kabir took birth

God Kabir appeared on this earth and likewise went back to his satlok after playing a divine act for 120 years on this earth. He did not leave a body behind. He did not take birth from a mother's womb. He appeared on a lotus flower where he was found by Niru and Nima (weaver couple).

Misconception 2 - God Kabir had a wife named Loi

God Kabir did not acquire a wife while he was residing on this earth. In his bani, God Kabir has referred word "Loi" to women (in general) and also to the world. God Kabir had no wife named Loi

Misconception 3 - God Kabir had 2 children named Kamaal and Kamaali

God Kabir had resurrected two souls at different times. When the first boy was resurrected by God Kabir, in awe, everyone present at the time said "kamaal ho gaya" (meaning a miracle has happened. Kamaal in hindi means miracle). Hence the boy was named Kamaal who then stayed with God Kabir. Likewise God Kabir resurrected a girl who in a similar way was named Kamaali. God Kabir did not marry and thus had no children. He only had 2 adopted children.

God Kabir in Vedas

Vedas describe a few attributes about the Supreme God which are as follows:-

  • Supreme God himself appears on this earth to impart his knowledge.
  • Supreme God also appears on water as an infant.
  • Supreme God when present on earth drinks milk of maiden cows.
  • Supreme God gets renowned as a poet.

The above mentioned attributes are clearly mentioned in the Vedas which you can read below. These verses also mention the name of Supreme God as Kavir Dev (Kabir Sahib). These attributes are only applicable to God Kabir. No other God or deity has any similar attributes.

KavirDev Himself comes as His messenger and Himself delivers His sound knowledge (True Tattavgyan).

Yajurved Adhyay 29 Mantra 25

One, who brings and imparts the healthy/sound knowledge i.e. the true bhakti of the Supreme God who is kind and the real friend of a living being, in the form of a messenger is Himself Kabir

Samved in Sankhya 1400 Sankhya 359 Samved Adhyay no. 4 Khand no. 25 Shlok no. 8

The Fully Capable God Kabir who brings the true spiritual knowledge to this world, who breaks the fort of the bondage of sins of Kaal-Brahm, the God who is the giver of all the happiness, is worthy of being praised and worshipped.

Mantra Sankhya 1400 Samved Utarchik Adhyay no. 12 Khand no. 3 Shlok no. 5

Clever people, through their speeches, instead of telling the true path of the way of worship of Purna Brahm, by directing towards the worship of others, in place of nectar, are respectfully making sip the pus from a boil-wound i.e. wrong knowledge of the worship of others {like, ghost-worship, Pitra-worship, carrying out shraadhs, worship of the three gunas (Rajgun-Brahma, Satgun-Vishnu, Tamgun-Shankar) and worship of Brahm-Kaal}. At that time, the Supreme-happiness-giving Purna Parmatma Great Kabir, acquiring another body made up of masses of lights (tejpunj) similar to His body in Satyalok, appears in body in an ordinary attire and by living like an ordinary man for a few days in this world, explaining the true knowledge by means of His shabdavali etc., brings awareness about the hidden Sargun-Nirgun knowledge of the Purna Parmatma (Supreme God).

Rigved Mandal 9 Sukt 96 Mantra 17

In Rigved Mandal no. 9 Sukt no 96 Mantra 16, it is said that let us know about the real name of the Supreme God. In this Mantra 17, that God’s name and His full introduction is given. The narrator of Ved, Brahm is saying that Supreme God Kavir Dev by appearing in the form of an extraordinary human child explains His real, pure knowledge to His souls i.e. devout followers by means of His Kabir vaani by addressing i.e. uttering, through poems and proverbs. Because of absence of this Tattavgyan, not recognising the God present then, people only consider Him to be a Rishi, Saint or a Poet. That God Himself also says that I am Purna Brahm, but on the basis of lokved (folk knowledge), believing God to be formless, the people do not recognise Him.

Rigved Mandal 9 Sukt 96 Mantra 18

It is said in Mantra 17 that Kavir Dev acquires a child form. Then, grows up while doing a leela (divine play). In Mantra 18 it is said that Because of describing the Tattavgyan through poems, that Kavir Dev attains the position of a poet (kavi) i.e. people start calling Him Rishi, Saint, and Kavi; in reality, He is Supreme God Kavir' only. The sacred speech composed by Him is known as Kabir Vaani, which is comforting like heaven to the devotees. That same God establishing the third lok of liberation i.e. Satyalok, is seated in form in a bright human-like body

Rigved Mandal 9 Sukt 96 Mantra 19

In Mantra 18, it is said that Supreme God KavirDev (Kabir Parmeshwar) lives in the third lok of liberation i.e. Satlok. It is said in this Mantra 19 that the Supreme God who is extremely white-coloured, who fulfils all the desires like Kamdhenu; in reality He only is the sustainer of all, the same Kavir Dev who comes in the mortal world in a child-form.

Rigved Mandal 9 Sukt 96 Mantra 20

Supreme God KavirDev (Kabir God) lives above in the third dhaam i.e. Satyalok and that same God by acquiring another human-form lives in the fourth Dhaam i.e. Anami lok. That very God, in an identical human form with a beautiful face and whitecoloured body, also comes in form on this Earth, and by making aware about His actual way of worship, makes a very big group i.e. the entire group of devotees rich in true bhakti. The entire group of the infinite followers, by doing worship, with the earnings of true bhakti attains the former lok of happiness, the treasure of complete liberation i.e. Satyalok.

Atharvaved Kaand no. 4 Anuvak no. 1 Mantra 7

The God about whom it is said that — Tvamev Mata ch Pita Tvamev (You only are Mother and You only are Father), Tvamev Bandhu ch Sakha Tvamev (You only are Brother and You only are a friend), Tvamev Vidhya ch Drvinm' Tvamev (You only are knowledge and wealth), Tvamev sarvam' mm Dev Dev (You only are my Greatest God of all gods). He, who is eternal, is the Mother, Father, Brother, and Friend of all, who in the form of a Jagat Guru (Teacher/Guru of the Universe), granting true bhakti to everyone, takes to Satlok, who does not deceive like Kaal, who is the Creator of all the brahmands (universes), is Kavir Dev (Kabir Parmeshwar).

God Kabir in Shrimad Bhagavad Gita

Bhagavad Gita Adhyay (chapter) 8, Shlok (verse) 9

A worshipper, who remembers the Eternal, Controller of all, Subtler than the subtlest, the Sustainer of all, Self-effulgent like the sun i.e. possessing a bright body, beyond the darkness of ignorance, (Kavim) Kavir Dev (God Kabir) Sachchidanandghan Parmeshwar.

Bhagavad Gita Adhyay (chapter) 8, Shlok (verse) 10

That worshipper, who is endowed with bhakti, by the power (the earnings of naam jaap) of the sadhna of the jaap of three mantras, while leaving the body at the time of death, reaching Trikuti, while doing the sumiran of Saarnaam by practice, goes to that divine form i.e. bright, visible (Param Purush) Parmeshwar only

God Kabir in Shri Guru Granth Sahib

Page no. 721, Raag Tilang, Mehla 1

“हक्का कबीर करीम तू, बेएब परवरदीगार। नानक बुगोयद जनु तुरा, तेरे चाकरां पाखाक

It has been clarified in the aforesaid sacred speech that Oh (Hakka Kabir) Sat Kabir, You are (Koon Kartar) Shabd Swaroopi Ram who does creation by the power of shabd i.e. You are the Creator of the entire nature; You only are (beaeb) flawless (Parwardigaar) Nuturer of all and (Karim) the kind God. I am the servant of Your servants.

God Kabir in Quran Sharif

Quran Sharif Surat Furqani S. 25, Aayat 52, 58-59

it is said that in reality, Kabir Allah is worthy of being worshipped (Ibaadaii Kabira). This Kabir is that same Purna Parmatma who created the nature in six days and sat on the throne on the seventh day. Ask some ‘Baakhabar’ (one who is fully acquainted with Him) for information about Him.

God Kabir in Bible

Iyov 36:5 Orthodox Jewish Bible (OJB)

36:5 -  See, El is kabir (mighty), and despiseth not any; He is kabir in ko’ach lev (strength of understanding).

The Hebrew word for God is (EL). In Hebrew, EL is a masculine singular noun meaning Almighty.

So, the Bible is explicitly saying- God is KABIR. Almighty is KABIR.

This same name "Kabir" is present in the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, Shri Guru Granth Sahib, Bible and Quran Sharif and in reality is the name of Supreme God.
